This week, students began learning about Color Theory and Watercolor Techniques. They created a color wheel using 12 different watercolor techniques, and are applying these techniques to their Album Cover design project. They will continue there Album Cover design next week. This lesson covers the Principles of Design such as: Balance, Unity and Emphasis. Photos to come!

This week in art, we have started creating our portfolios in 2-point perspective. This means that students had to learn how to identify where and what a vanishing point is, and how to create block or bubble letters that go back in space to meet BOTH vanishing points. This week, we went over the syllabus and played an introductory game, Artist Chopped! Ask your artist what they were able to create out of the "Mystery Ingredients". Students also learned how to write an Artist Statement to help them talk about their work. |
