This week in art, we introduced the Japanese style of art, Notan. We then discussed some important vocabulary such as contrast, value, positive/negative space as well as balance. Students have started their Notan sketches. More to come soon!
This week in art, we continued designing our portfolios. This was done as a sort of "pretest" to see where students are proficient, and to see what we could expand on throughout the quarter. Students were to create a portfolio using their name while also including a gradient and also using warm/cool color schemes. Hello and welcome to art! This week, we will be going over the syllabus as well as preparing our portfolios for class. Please note the attached syllabus, as well as it's due date of January 12th. Students are also required to bring in an 8.5 x 11 or 9x12 sketchbook by the 12th for class.
