This week, we went over the syllabus and played an introductory game, Artist Chopped! Ask your artist what they were able to create out of the "Mystery Ingredients". Students also learned how to write an Artist Statement to help them talk about their work.

This week in art, we introduced a lesson on 1-point perspective, 2-point perspective, as well as Surrealism. We discussed the history of the style and began sketching out rough drafts in perspective. Students are beginning their final drafts. Student progress photos will be up next week. Below, you can find the Power Point on the lesson, as well as the rubric and other resources.
This week, students have been finishing up their Pop Art Candy Wrapper Close Ups! Students started by drawing a miniature version, then used math to create larger grids to paint on. Here is the final product. What do you think?
