This week in art, we continued with our Fabric Weaving lesson. Students learned about weaving throughout history and across different cultures. Students also learned weaving vocabulary such as : Warp, weft, textile arts, and tension. Students learned how to create their own looms as well as weave on them. Photos to come!

This week in art, we have started creating our portfolios in 1-point perspective. This means that students had to learn how to identify where and what a vanishing point is, and how to create block or bubble letters that go back in space to meet the vanishing point. This week, we went over the syllabus and played an introductory game, Artist Chopped! Ask your artist what they were able to create out of the "Mystery Ingredients". Students also learned how to write an Artist Statement to help them talk about their work. |
